Online Auction Launched for Disposal of DC Government Surplus Personal Property
(Washington, DC) Herbert R. Tillery, Deputy Mayor for Operations and Interim Chief Procurement Officer, successfully conducted the first online auction for the disposal of DC Government surplus personal property. The Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP), in conjunction with Liquidity Services, Inc., a property asset disposition firm, will oversee the online auctions and provide direct guidance to new and previous bidders.
Those interested in bidding on the surplus personal property must register with LSI at Liquidity Services, Inc. and adhere to the outlined auction rules. Auctions will no longer be held onsite at the DC Government Personal Property Division Warehouse location on Adams Place, NE, Washington, DC.
The purposes of this online registration are to ensure that the bidder’s information is on file with LSI, that bidders understand the terms and conditions of bidding, and that bidders are able to submit a bid online for DC Government surplus personal property. “This new process will help to ensure that we properly collect, inventory, valuate, and dispose of excess and surplus personal property and that we get the best value for the District.” said Tillery.
Sales revenues contribute to the DC Government funds for programs that benefit citizens. |
